Class of 2012 Scholarships

PURPOSE: The scholarships offered here will be presented to Iowa high school seniors to be used for their first year of education on the college level while pursuing programs of study in any field of agriculture or natural resources. This is a broad field. A marine biologist is just as qualified to apply as someone wanting to pursue animal science.

AMOUNT: One scholarship will be awarded by the Dallas County Soil & Water Conservation District in the amount of $500. This application will be sent to the regional competition for a chance at another $300. The regional winner will then be sent on for a chance at the Conservation Districts of Iowa scholarships. Three scholarships will be awarded at the state level in amounts of $1,800; $1,200; and $1,000.

BASIS OF AWARD: Criteria consideration will be points: 60 pt. for leadership (leadership includes service, character, and self-motivation at 20 pt. each) and 40 points for scholastic achievement.
