The Dallas SWCD along with the Conservation Districts
of Iowa (CDI) will again sponsor scholarships in 2009.
This year the Dallas SWCD will award one $750 scholarship.
This winning application will be sent on for the regional competition worth
$300.
The regional winner will be forwarded on to the state competition where three
awards will be give
in the amounts of $1,800, $1,200 and $1,000.
Only high school seniors pursuing programs of study in any field of Agriculture or Natural Resources need apply.
Criteria consideration will be service,
character, self-motivation and scholastic achievement.
All applications must be typed.
Applications are to be submitted to the SWCD office of the county in which you
live

Kathryn
Ann Kimpston-Burkgen, daughter of Thomas Burkgen and Susan
Kimpston of Perry. Kathryn was a student at the Perry Community High
School. She has chosen to continue her education at ISU pursuing a veterinarian
of medicine degree.
2007 winner
Chris Keeran, son of Kurt &
Yolanda Keeran of Redfield. Chris was a student of Panorama High School. Chris
had chosen a career in agricultural engineering at ISU.
